The Hague University – Erasmus+
Who, what, where?
Okey, let’s get this blogging strarted! Hi, my name is Aleksi and this blog is mainly about my Erasmus+ exchange studies from City of Lappeenranta in Finland to The Hague in The Netherlands. I’m currently studying Business Administration Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) where I was given a great possibility of exchange studies. From several potential exchange location I chose The Hague, the capital of the province of South-Holland and the seat of government.
The Hague, Den Haag
I’ve never been to Netherlands. Or Holland. Still almost everything I’ve heard of Dutch people in Finland is positive. I’ve heard that there is a lot of greeting and smiling. My knowledge of The Dutch culture consists of The Hague, tulips, soccer, flat lands, marijuana, tall people, windmills, Amsterdam and cycling! Also I know that The Hague is known for being the headquarters for many global organizations such as International Criminal Court, International Chamber of Commerce and different NATO agencies.
Spring of 2015
I’m studying Business at The Hague University for the spring semester of 2015. Academic calendar is not 100% sure yet, but my studies will probably conist of Sustainable Development. My goals are in learning local culture and becoming a better photographer. I’m going to enjoy the studies keeping in mind wise words from Mark Twain:
“I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”
Alltogether I want to spend mind opening (”Open Your Mind” -LUT) exchange studies abroad. My plan is to photograph a lot. After carefully selecting and then editing the best photos I’ll blog about them. No selfies, no Instagram and no shitty filters. But we’ll see what the reality brings with it.
I’m flying to Schiphol (Amsterdam) on 18th of January. My studies begin at the turn of February.
